The Asturian delegation, made up of five key companies — Pixelshub, RDT Company, Rodisa, Satec and Talleres Zitron— took part in the “Defence and Aerospace Trade Mission” in Wallonia (Belgium) between 9 and 12 December. Promoted by Asturex and FEMETALiNDUSTRY, and in collaboration with the Asturias Defence Hub, this strategic initiative sought to position Asturian technology in European programmes and foster industrial alliances.
Objectives and scope of the mission
- Integration into European programmes: The aim was to incorporate Asturian industry into key initiatives such as EDF, SCAF and Eurodrone, enhancing its image as a robust provider of defence services and products.
- Alliances technological: Through an intensive schedule of B2B meetings and technical visits, the Asturian companies have interacted with relevant Belgian players, accelerating potential industrial collaborations.
Collaboration with Belgian organisations
The mission was organised by the Walloon Export and Investment Agency (AWEX), in conjunction with the clusters SkyWin and Mecatech, Wallonie-Bruxelles International (WBI) and the European Enterprise Network (EEN). The conference included visits to leading centres such as Thales, CRM Group, Sonaca, A6K, the SIRRIS additive manufacturing laboratory, the European Space Agency and Nexova.
Key data on participation and trade

- Belgian participants: 76 entities from the sector.
- In 2024, Asturias exported €236.3 million worth of goods to Belgium, ranking 8th among its destinations; imports reached €138.7 million.
Support institutional
The event was attended by Pierre-Yves Jeholet, Minister for the Economy of the Walloon Region, underscoring the political significance of this initiative.
This mission reinforces Asturias’ strategic position as a leading export region in defence, cybersecurity and aerospace, and promotes its integration into collaborative European projects. The commitment to industrial internationalisation, led by the Defence Hub and the International Promotion Plan of the Sekuens Agency, continues to consolidate links in converging technological fields.
The success of this mission in Wallonia opens up new opportunities to strengthen cross-border cooperation, generating synergies in both technological capabilities and dual innovation (civil and military). For Asturias, it is another step forward in its drive towards a more competitive and sustainable defence industry with global reach.
