Asturias Hub Defensa takes part in the 35th Army 2E+I Forum in Toledo alongside leading companies in the sector

Asturias Hub Defensa took part in the 9th edition of the 2E+I Ejército 35 Forum, held on 30 September and 1 October in Toledo, thereby reinforcing its commitment to strengthening the defence industry and technology ecosystem in Asturias and to fostering collaboration between companies, the Armed Forces, technology centres and universities.

Organised under the auspices of the 2E+I Army 35 Forum by the Army Logistics Support Command (MALE) and the Army Museum Foundation, the event has become one of the leading national forums for the exchange of knowledge and the identification of innovative technologies aimed at meeting the operational needs of the future Force 35. This year’s edition, held under the slogan “Differential Capabilities for the Force of the Future”, issues of the utmost importance to the sector were addressed, such as the robotisation of the battlefield, autonomous systems, anti-drone capabilities, connectivity, multi-domain systems and new processes for the procurement of defence capabilities.

The presence of Asturias Hub Defensa in Toledo has made it possible to strengthen institutional and business ties, gain first-hand insight into the trends that will shape the transformation of military capabilities in the coming years, and explore new opportunities for collaboration between the Army and the Asturian industrial sector.

The forum was also attended by several companies that form part of Asturias Hub Defensa, which represent the high level of technology and industrial capacity found in the Principality. These include, in particular:

  • Rheinmetall Expal Munitions
  • GDELS-Santa Bárbara Sistemas
  • Indra
  • Piedrafita
  • ITEMAT

Companies with a proven track record in strategic defence sectors such as land-based systems, munitions, digitalisation, advanced engineering and high-tech materials.

The involvement of these companies highlights Asturias’s growing prominence within Spain’s defence technology and industrial base, as well as the region’s capacity to provide innovative solutions to the security and defence challenges faced by the Armed Forces.

At Asturias Hub Defensa, we will continue to promote initiatives that foster cooperation between businesses, public bodies and centres of expertise, helping to position Asturias as a leading hub for innovation, technology and the defence industry.

Asturias Defence Hub would like to thank the organisers of the forum and all the participating organisations for their commitment to continuing to build a collaborative ecosystem that will enable us to successfully tackle the technological and strategic challenges of the future.
