On this occasion, Asturias Hub Defensa took part, alongside its partner IDONIAL, in the seventh transnational meeting of the European project AILEEN CoVE, held at IDONIAL’s premises in Gijón. The meeting brought together representatives from the organisations forming part of the European consortium with the aim of reviewing the progress made and coordinating the final stages of the project.
The meeting took place as AILEEN reached 40 months into its implementation, entering a decisive phase for consolidating the results achieved and defining the strategies that will ensure the initiative’s continuity once the project comes to an end. During the various working sessions, the partners assessed the progress of the work packages, the milestones achieved and the upcoming activities planned until the programme’s conclusion.
One of the key aspects of the meeting was the analysis of the future sustainability of the AILEEN CoVE network and the mechanisms required to ensure the utilisation and continuity of the results produced. The participants addressed issues relating to the incorporation of new organisations into the network, the consolidation of the Centres of Professional Excellence (CoVEs) and the development of the services and tools created during the project.
Furthermore, the progress status of development of the various deliverables related to the methodologies for recognition and designation of CoVEs, the training standards for advanced manufacturing, the implementation of the AILEEN ecosystem and activities relating to communication, dissemination and training carried out by the consortium.
The holding of this meeting in Gijón has also made it possible to showcase the capabilities technological and innovation capabilities available in Asturias, reinforcing the role of the region within the framework of a European initiative which aims to to improve skills in the workplace and collaboration between industry, centres technology and organisations providing training in the aerospace and defence sectors defence.
