Gijón, 21 March 2026.– Asturias Hub Defence has concluded its participation in the Exercise BACSI 2026 with a proposal focused on the demonstration of technological capabilities of the Asturian ecosystem applied to the sectors a23> Asturian applied to the fields of defence and aerospace.
The event, held at the Albacete Air Base and featuring over 80 stands in themed hangars, served as a showcase for Asturias’ industrial and technological potential in a highly practical setting.
In this edition, Asturias Hub Defensa has benefited from the joint participation of its partners SVMAC, IDONIAL, GALEO, SR7, SATEC, OLMAR, PIXELSHUB, INVICSA and SBP, reflecting the diversity and complementarity of the regional ecosystem. Likewise, the new partners INDRA and THE NEXT PANGEA were present with their own stands, reinforcing the Asturian presence at the event.
During the event, the Hub’s stand provided an opportunity to showcase various technological solutions in key areas such as terrestrial robotics, unmanned systems, digitalisation and advanced manufacturing. Among the highlights, the “Asturcón”—the ground drone developed by SVMAC—took centre stage, having been designed to operate in complex environments and reduce personnel exposure in high-risk situations.
In the field of unmanned systems, INVICSA has unveiled its drone hangar-based, a system for management and control of fleets of drones, designed to automate operations and to improve the a31> safety and efficiency in missions that require operational continuity.
For its part, SR7 has demonstrated its command and control system, highlighting the ecosystem’s capabilities in the integrated security of critical infrastructure. In the field of advanced manufacturing, OLMAR and IDONIAL have exhibited various components developed using additive manufacturing technologies, highlighting their application in advanced industrial processes and their contribution to production flexibility and optimisation.
The remaining of companies taking part have submitted the proposal with solutions in areas such as data analytics, data analytics, digitalisation, “air dominance”, engineering and technological development, reinforcing the vision of an ecosystem capable of tackle complex projects in a joint manner.
For Carolina Díaz, director of Asturias Hub Defensa, “participation in BACSI 2026 has highlighted the Hub’s companies’ capacity for collaboration and complementarity, enabling them to offer integrated solutions aligned with the programme’s key challenges, such as digitalisation, automation, sustainability, security and smart maintenance. “This event has allowed us to demonstrate, in a highly practical setting, the potential of Asturias’ technological ecosystem from a hands-on perspective: capabilities that are demonstrated, shared and turned into opportunities for the aerospace and defence sector.”
