On Wednesday 18 February<\/strong>, we held an event at AS5Hub (Gij\u00f3n Science and Technology Park)<\/strong> a key event to strengthen the knowledge and capabilities of our business ecosystem in the areas of security, certifications and regulatory requirements in the defence sector<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

For more than two hours, representatives from the institutional sector, technology and security sectors shared a comprehensive vision of the current challenges and the standards required to access to contracts and projects within the sector.<\/p>\n\n

\ud83d\udd39 Topics highlights from the day<\/h3>\n\n

1. Context and strategic vision of the defence sector<\/h4>\n\n

From Asturias Hub Defence we open the session by highlighting the importance of security as a distinguishing factor and essential requirement for for operating in the market for Defence, as well as its direct impact on contracts and tenders.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

2. Regulatory framework for security of classified information<\/h4>\n\n

Led by Dianet Jardines and Sof\u00eda \u00c1lvarez (Castroalonso)<\/strong>, attendees learnt about:<\/p>\n\n

    \n
  • Types of certifications (HSEM, HSES, HPS) and when they apply.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Deadlines, costs, common errors and liabilities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Regulations NATO and EU applied to actual projects. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n

    3. Certifications for safety essential for the sector<\/h4>\n\n

    Mario Junquera (Govertis \u2013 Telef\u00f3nica Tech)<\/strong> outlined the key aspects of the ENS<\/strong> (Basic, Medium and High), its relationship with ISO 27001<\/strong> and other relevant certifications such as ISO 22301, NATO\/EU standards and international references such as NIST\/CMMC. The standard requirements of major contractors in the defence sector<\/strong> were also discussed.<\/p>\n\n

    4. Protocols for physical security and management of staff<\/h4>\n\n

    Mario Mart\u00edn (AsturCON.tech \u2013 Civil Guard)<\/strong> explored the following:<\/p>\n\n

    • Protocols for physical security and access control.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Staff selection and monitoring in relation to internal risks.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Procedures for communication with authorities and management of incidents.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n
