The event, organized by the government of the Principality through SEKUENS, UGT FICA <\/strong>and the Anastasio de Gracia Foundation<\/strong>, in collaboration with the Ministry of Defense<\/strong> and the sponsorship of several companies, brought together more than 30 Asturian and Spanish companies to exhibit their most advanced technologies in the field of defense and nearly a thousand attendees , including companies, professionals, institutions and union representatives, generating a positive impact on the region.<\/p>\n

  • Focus onthe defense industry as an economic engine<\/strong>: The importance of the sector as a generator of employment, growth and innovation was highlighted, and as a crucial element for Spain’s technological sovereignty and strategic autonomy.<\/li>\n
  • Public-private collaboration<\/strong>: The meeting encouraged synergy between companies,public administrations and social agents to promote the development of the sector.<\/li>\n
  • High-level round tables<\/strong>: Addressed strategic issues such as the challenges of the Spanish industry, the new investment cycle in defense, training and innovation in the sector.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

      Throughout the two days , announcements of great importance for the region were made:<\/p>\n

      • New Escribano plant<\/strong>: The group will install an engineering plant in the region, creating new employment and technological development opportunities.<\/li>\n
      • Rheinmetall Expal Munitions staff increase<\/strong>: Admiral Jos\u00e9 Luis Urcelay, president of Rheinmetall Expal Munitions, commented that the Trubia plant is currently employing 300 people and expect to reach 350 before the end of the year.<\/li>\n
      • Defense TechnologyCenter<\/strong>: The Ministry of Defense will create a technology center in Asturias, linked to the Tess Defense consortium, to promote RDI in the sector.<\/li>\n
