2025 Assembly in Granda

Granda, 12 June 2025

The association of Asturian companies in the defence sector, Asturias Hub Defence, held its Third Annual Assembly today at the facilities of the company GAM (General de Alquiler de Maquinaria) in Granda. The event was attended by more than 50 people, consolidating the Principality as a pole of reference in the defence and security industry.

During the event , the activities carried out in the last year were reviewed and two new Asturian companies were welcomed, thus reinforcing the technological and production capacities of the cluster. With these incorporations, the hub strengthens its value chain in strategic areas such as business consulting, software engineering, augmented reality and the manufacture of high-precision components.

The new companies joining the project are:

INMOLSA: Expert company in precision machining and manufacturing of metal products, providing key capabilities for the development of robust components and systems for the defence industry.
PREON: Engineering specialised in the design and development of customised electronic products, from hardware ( PCB design, prototyping) to embedded firmware, applying high quality standards for B2B environments.

The public act of the assembly included a conference given by Mr. Alfredo L. González Jiménez, Brigadier General and Deputy Director of Supply, Transport and Logistics Support of the Air and Space Army Logistics Support Command (MALOG). Afterwards, the attendees had the opportunity to visit the GAM facilities, where they participated in an immersive experience with forklift, platform and work at height simulators.

Looking to the future, Asturias Hub Defence has set itself the goal of increasing its visibility and presence at national and international events. A recent example was its outstanding participation in FEINDEF 2025, the defence and security fair held in Madrid, where the hub attended with 13 partners at the Asturias stand (promoted by ASTUREX) and another 7 with its own stand. During the fair, an important collaboration agreement was also signed with the Association of Public Administration Contractors ( AESMIDE).
