Adaro Tecnología wins a key contract for the Spanish Army

Individual CombatantFirst Aid Kit

Gijón, 17 June 2024 – Asturias Hub Defensa celebrates the success of one of its partners, the Asturian company Adaro Tecnología, which has been awarded a significant contract with the Chief of Economic Affairs of the Army Logistics Support Command.

The agreement, valued at 2,348,500 euros, contemplates the acquisition and supply of new Individual Combat Kits (BIC) that will equip Spanish military personnel in peacekeeping operations abroad.

This achievement is a direct reflection of our cluster’s mission: to position the Principality of Asturias as a benchmark in technological research and development for the defence industry.

From Asturias Hub Defensa, we congratulate Adaro Tecnología for this contract, which not only demonstrates the high capacity and specialisation of its team, but also validates the enormous potential of the industrial and technological ecosystem of our region.

Innovation for combatant protection

The first aid kits designed by Adaro Tecnología are designed to provide critical first aid in combat situations. Each kit is composed of 14 essential products, such as tourniquets, haemostatic bandages, chest dressings and survival blankets, designed to provide the most effective care for haemorrhages, burns or resuscitation situations in extreme conditions.

One of the most innovative features is the incorporation of an electronic device for Sanitary Control (SCS), which will ensure the traceability and logistical control of each kit and its components. This technological breakthrough highlights the type of advanced solutions that Hub companies are capable of developing, aligning with our goal of fostering the creation of competitive projects in areas such as sensor technology, smart textiles and personal protection.

Adaro Tecnología, a benchmark in the sector

Adaro Tecnología is a clear example of the high-value industrial fabric that the Hub represents. The company is not only a recognised manufacturer of safety lighting equipment for explosive atmospheres, but is also certified by the Spanish Medicines Agency as an importer and grouper for the sale of medical devices for emergencies. This success is in addition to other relevant cases, such as the supply of safety torches to the Navy’s fire-fighting forces.

This contract reinforces the strategic collaboration between Asturian industry and the Armed Forces, and serves as a catalyst for more companies in the region to explore opportunities in the defence sector, an objective for which Asturias Hub Defensa works as a facilitator and link.
